説明 An akachochin is a small, casual bar or pub serving modestly priced drinks and single dishes. Akachochin literally means “a red lantern,” one of which is hung outside as a bar sign. Sake is the drink of choice at this type of establishment. The staple dishes are oden (stew in clear broth) and yakitori (skewered grilled chicken). While such bars have traditionally been a place for mostly male commuters to stop by after work for a drink, recently the clientele has expanded to include young couples.
