やくそく【約束】 世界宗教用語大事典
旧約聖書・新約聖書の「約」は約束（契約）である。神は人に対し、共同の責任をもって約束する。アブラハムが故郷を出たとき、イスラエル民族が出エジプトしたとき、キリストの最後の説教で聖霊を下すとき、みな約束であり、その実行が必ず伴っていたのである。
